A host of others enjoyed smaller, but respectable gains. SGRP - Quarterly Report. XYBR - Another huge alliance for Xybernaut. This will be great for both company exposure and investor interest. Expect more announcements like this from XYBR in the coming months. Here are the details: Xybernaut Corporation today announced that Xybernaut® wearable computers and software solutions for "queue-busting" (reducing long lines), registration, ticketing and other customer services have been developed jointly with IBM (NYSE:IBM - News) for airline carrier customers -- including the previously announced Mobile Kiosk Program. Xybernaut solutions are initially being integrated as part of a Mobile Kiosk Program that represents one of the first jointly developed solutions resulting from a reseller agreement completed by IBM and Xybernaut last year. As part of the program, airline customer service representatives utilize Xybernuat Mobile Assistant® V (MA V) wearable computers as the basis for a wireless/mobile check-in and ticketing system to augment existing registration desks. The solution consists of a Xybernaut MA V wearable computing system, manufactured for Xybernaut by IBM, an integrated light-weight flat panel display (FPD) with touch screen capabilities and support for body-worn credit card readers and printers. The system provides a ticketing agent with the same functionality as if he or she was behind one of the fixed location counter terminals. Given the wearable nature of this solution, additional agents can be sent to handle and support extensive crowds when, for example, flights are rescheduled or delayed. Xybernaut has been developing queue-busting applications in conjunction with airlines, hotels, retail stores and fast-food restaurants for several years. "We believe that queue-busting is one of the `killer applications' for wearable computing, much the same as word processing, spreadsheets and databases were the killer applications for the introduction and success of the PC," stated Edward G. Newman, chairman president and CEO for Xybernaut. "We are encouraged to see our wearable/wireless platform continue to gain momentum within the airline industry, a key vertical industry sector for Xybernaut. Today, large enterprises are looking for ways to leverage existing investments in computing and communications. Measurable returns on these investments are becoming a critical benchmark for enterprise productivity," added Newman. May 15EBIX - Financials. TRAC - Financials. SCKT - Here is the latest statement from Socket Communications, yesterday's Hot List penny stock pick: Socket Communications, Inc., the Mobile Connection(TM) Company, today announced the availability of its enhanced Bluetooth Connection Kit for Pocket PCs. The product creates a cable-free link between a Pocket PC, or other Windows CE device, and a Bluetooth-enabled phone, allowing a user to exchange email, browse the Internet, send a fax, or access the company network by using the mobile phone as a wireless modem. Enhancements to the CompactFlash Bluetooth card include upgraded firmware that is Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) 1.1 compliant, providing increased compatibility with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. "The increasing number of Bluetooth-enabled devices entering the market indicates that Bluetooth technology is coming of age," said David Hayden, president of MobileWeek, a mobile and wireless consultancy. "As more and more people become part of the mobile workforce, they need an easy and cost-effective way to access email, browse the Internet, fax, print, and do all the other computer-related tasks they can perform with their wired connections. Socket's Bluetooth Connection Kit gives them that capability." Socket's Bluetooth Connection Kit is the only CompactFlash Bluetooth card to be awarded the Nokia OK logo, ensuring compatibility with Nokia's Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones. In addition, Socket's Bluetooth Connection Kit now supports connections to mobile phones from Ericsson, Motorola, NTT DoComo, and Sony, and it works on GSM/GPRS, CDMA, PHS and cdmaONE networks. The printing application mirrors desktop printing functionality, making it easy to print to a Bluetooth-enabled printer. The Bluetooth Connection Kit also enables access to a network via a LAN Access point, and the ability to ActiveSync with a Bluetooth-enabled desktop or notebook. It is the only CompactFlash card on the market with a fully integrated antenna -- resulting in no change to the form factor of a handheld device. The Get Connected! Wizard makes establishing a connection to a Bluetooth-enabled phone quick and easy, and the Socket Dialer application automatically dials any phone number in the contact database, providing hands-free calling. Socket's Mobility Friendly(TM) Bluetooth Connection Kit is built to take up the least amount of space in a person's pocket and consume less battery power than any product of its kind. "Socket is proud to provide users with the most Mobility Friendly(TM) products on the market," commented Patti Cassalia, Product Marketing Manager for Socket's Bluetooth product line. "Using a Bluetooth-enabled phone as a modem in conjunction with their Pocket PC is easy and cost-effective. Users save money because they don't need to add an extra account for data as they would with a wireless modem. Plus, the cable-free link and fully integrated antenna mean less hassle for the user." The Bluetooth Connection Kit is compatible with Windows CE 3.x for Pocket 2000, Pocket PC 2002, and Handheld PC 2000, and it will operate in any of those devices with either a Type I or Type II CompactFlash slot. A similar solution for Windows powered notebooks will be available in June. The product is available through Socket's website (www.socketcom.com) for a suggested retail price of US $179. Current owners of the Bluetooth Connection Kit can upgrade by downloading the software from www.socketcom.com/support/support_bluetooth.htm.
